Apakah Anda tahu Favicon atau Favorite Icon? Favicon adalah icon yang berada di sebelah (sebelum) alamat website atau blog. Favicon merupakan identitas Anda yang unik dan dapat dijadikan sebagai simbol website dan blog Anda. Penggunaan favicon akan lebih menarik perhatian orang apabila website dan blog Anda berada pada menu bookmark mereka.
Pada tips blog ini saya akan membahas cara mengganti favicon Blogger dengan favicon buatan Anda.
Pertama-tama Anda harus memiliki icon yang akan Anda gunakan berupa sebuah gambar dengan extension .ico berukuran 16x16 pixel. Anda dapat membuat icon dengan Photoshop atau GMIP (software edit gambar gratis) sebagai alternatif kalau Anda tidak memiliki Photoshop. Anda juga bisa menggunakan favicon generator yang tersedia gratis di Internet apabila Anda sudah memiliki gambar yang akan dipakai.
Apabila Anda sudah membuat favicon untuk blog Anda di Blogger, Anda harus mengunggahnya (upload) ke Internet karena Anda tidak bisa menyimpan favicon Anda di directory Blogger. Anda dapat menyimpannya di website Anda atau di website lain yang menyediakan layanan favicon hosting atau file hosting. Saya menyimpan favicon blog ini di website saya anto-dwiharja.com, Anda bisa melihatnya di http://anto-dwiharja.com/images/favicon.ico.
Sekarang, pada Blogger Anda pergilah ke tab Rancangan dan pilih Edit HTML.
Pada kotak yang berisi bahasa HTML, di bagian atas carilah baris seperti ini:
<data:blog.pageTitle/></ title> <BR>Ketikkan baris berikut di bawahnya:<link href='URL of your icon file' rel='shortcut icon' type='image/vnd.microsoft.icon'/> atau baris di bawah ini, pilih salah satu.<link href='URL of your icon file' rel='shortcut icon' type='image/x-icon'/> Gantilah “URL of your icon file” dengan URL di mana Anda menyimpan favicon Anda. Sebagai contoh, baris HTML saya adalah:<link href='http://anto-dwiharja.com/images/favicon.ico' rel='shortcut icon' type='image/vnd.microsoft.icon'/> Simpan template Anda. Kalau Anda melihat blog Anda sekarang, maka seharusnya icon Blogger yang biasanya berada di sebelah URL Blogger Anda sudah berubah dengan favicon yang Anda pakai. <BR>Format Gambar Lainnya<BR>Extension .ico merupakan format gambar yang umum dipakai sebagai favicon. Namun, Anda juga bisa menggunakan format gambar dengan extension .png atau .gif. Yang penting ukuran gambarnya harus 16x16 pixel. <BR><BR>Jika Anda menggunakan format gambar PNG, gunakan baris berikut:<BR><link href='URL of your icon file' rel='shortcut icon' type='image/png'/> <BR>Jika Anda menggunakan format gambar GIF, gunakan baris berikut:<link href='URL of your icon file' rel='shortcut icon' type='image/gif'/> Jangan lupa menganti “URL of your icon file” dengan URL di mana Anda menyimpan favicon Anda.
